Since our ACORN days, ACO has a long history of organizing renters and fighting for affordable and safe housing in Arkansas. 

We're now hiring a new Housing Justice Organizer. They'll be organizing renters to fight for safe housing, as always. But what else can we be doing to fight for better housing in our communities? Give us YOUR input on what you'd like to see our new organizer focus on.

    A: Construction of rental or homeownership housing
  • Q: #2. If you could sit down with a lawmaker, what would you tell them about housing needs? What should lawmakers do to help our communities get more affordable, safe housing?
    A: Eliminate vacant, boarded up houses, overgrown lots and alleyways. Clean up these areas and turn into community gardens and playgrounds. Give renters rights, power to make landlords do repairs when asked. Stop raising rents, and not keeping up property.
